Małgorzata Dmitruk serves as Associate Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, leading the Relief and Intaglio Printing Studio within the Department of Drawing and Painting at the Faculty of Sculpture since 2014. Previously, she held positions from assistant (2002) to assistant professor (2011) in the Department of Printmaking at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, maintaining continuous academic affiliation for over two decades.
Education:
- 1993-1995: Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk, Belarus
- 1995-1999: Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (graduated with distinction under Prof. Władysław Winiecki)
- 2007: Doctor of Fine Arts (DSc) in Visual Arts, specializing in Fine Arts
- 2013: Postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in Visual Arts, specializing in Fine Arts
Research Focus: Professor Dmitruk's practice centers on printmaking (specializing in relief and intaglio techniques), extending into painting, textile art, and installation with strong conceptual foundations. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression, notably demonstrated in award-winning illustrated books like Wojtek. She actively explores materiality through unique textiles, scenography, and art books, maintaining studio-based research that informs both artistic production and pedagogy.
