Artur Masternak

Artur Masternak, a Doctor of Arts and Adjunct Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, graduated with distinction in 2010 from the Intaglio Printing Studio of Professor Jan Szmatloch and received a presentation from the Painting Studio of Professor Kazimierz Cieślik. He earned his PhD in Fine Arts in 2017 and has been affiliated with the Relief Printing Studio at his alma mater since 2018.

His artistic practice centers on the concept of fragmentation, an open cycle of works inscribed in a constant flow of references and interdependencies, influenced by Far Eastern art, particularly the Japanese concept of emptiness (MA). His work has been exhibited in numerous international projects and competitions across Poland, Serbia, Japan, Armenia, China, Russia, and the European Union.

Active in printmaking, drawing, and painting, he has been a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and participated in over 15 international exhibitions and biennales since 2010.
