Mateusz Dąbrowski

Dr. hab. Mateusz Dąbrowski serves as a university professor at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He directs the Screen Printing and Digital Techniques Studio for undergraduate students and has coordinated the Erasmus program since 2016. Additionally, he supervises KISSPRINT – the Association of Graphic Arts Creators, which connects students and alumni through exhibitions and publications.

Education:

• Studied at Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
• Earned diploma in Professor Rafał Strent's printmaking studio
• Completed painting supplement in Professor Adam Styka's studio
• Obtained postdoctoral degree (2018)

Research Interests: Dąbrowski's practice interrogates unnoticed reality, illogical environments, and objectlessness through painting, graphic arts, spatial installations, and interactive sculptures. His work explores time, movement, and materiality with deliberate ambiguity, prioritizing conceptual questions over definitive answers. Central to his methodology is the theory of constant motion, manifested through minimalist repetitive movements that evoke organic evolution and transcend physical materiality.

Significant grant support includes the Minister of Culture's six-month scholarship and the Young Poland Program award, enabling artistic development and international residencies.

Labs and Teams: He leads the Screen Printing and Digital Techniques Studio as an experimental hub for foundational student training. Through KISSPRINT, he maintains an active network of graphic arts practitioners that documents creative processes via publications and cross-generational exhibitions.
