Chris Booth is a Lecturer in User Experience Design at the University of Plymouth, part of the School of Art, Design and Architecture within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. He serves as Programme Leader for BA/BSc Digital Media Design and BA/BSc Internet Design. His career began at the University of Plymouth as a student, completing the BA Digital Art and Technology program within iDAT. Post-graduation, he worked as a Web Developer with certifications in Kentico CMS, collaborating with clients like Kaspersky, NHS, and British Airways, focusing on e-Learning projects.
Chris transitioned to academia with a passion for teaching, leveraging his industry experience to bridge design and development skills. In 2020/21, he won the SSTAR Award for Programme Leader of the Year, praised by students for his clarity, support, and innovative initiatives like weekly social sessions to combat isolation. His teaching style emphasizes student engagement and practical application, fostering confidence and career readiness.
He actively involves students in course development through feedback mechanisms, ensuring the curriculum aligns with their needs. Chris’s expertise spans UX design, digital media, and interactive technologies, with a focus on holistic educational experiences.
