Chris McQuillan is a Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Animation and Games Art at the University of Sunderland. With over 15 years of industry experience, he has collaborated with global brands such as Sony, Nintendo, and Audi, specializing in technical aspects of computer-generated animation. His teaching spans all stages of the BA (Hons) Animation and Games Art programme, integrating industry insights to guide students in studio practices and techniques. Key areas of expertise include motion capture, virtual reality, and projection mapping.
McQuillan maintains active industry connections, ensuring his teaching remains current. He has supervised student projects featured in notable collaborations, such as a video for Twayn’s Christmas single (2024) and an animation for Emeli Sandé (2022). His passion lies in bridging creative and technical domains, fostering student understanding of the CG arena.
