Chigbo Arthur Anyaduba is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Winnipeg, Faculty of Arts. He holds a PhD from the University of Manitoba (2018), an MA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria (2013), and a BA from the same institution (2008). His research explores cultural representations of genocide and mass atrocities in African contexts, with a current focus on the mass starvation of Igbo populations during the Biafra-Nigeria War (1967–1970). He authored The Postcolonial African Genocide Novel: Quests for Meaningfulness (2021) and co-authored an article on memory and justice in postwar contexts (2020).
Teaching focuses on African Literature, Postcolonial Literature, Genocide and Literature, Critical Race Studies, and Cultural Studies. Courses include Topics in Literature (ENGL-1005), African Literature and Culture (ENGL-2740), and Making Peace and War Literature and Culture (ENGL-3180).
Publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to studying genocide through literature. He critiques academic methodologies in Africanist autoethnography and examines how literature addresses communal healing in post-violence societies.
