Prof. Chien Shiuh-Shen is an Associate Professor of Human Geography at the National Taiwan University, Department of Geography. He obtained his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has held visiting positions, including at the National University of Singapore’s East Asian Institute.
Research Interests include development geography, globalization, transnational studies, and the political economy of urban and regional development, with a focus on the Global South and post-socialist China. His ongoing projects examine the theorization of eco cities in China and de-territorialized environmental risk assemblages in East Asia.
Publications span journals like Asian Journal of Political Science, Global Networks, and Urban Studies, as well as book chapters with publishers such as World Scientific and Routledge. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical studies in China and the Global South.
