Jonathan Schwartz serves as Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at State University of New Paltz. His academic career spans over two decades with extensive research in Asian politics, particularly focusing on China, Taiwan, and South Korea.
His research interests center on Asian Politics, Political Economy, and Public Health Policy, with specialized expertise in pandemic response mechanisms, state-civil society relations, and environmental governance. His work examines how institutional structures affect crisis management effectiveness across different political systems.
