Cheryl Suzack is a Professor at the University of Toronto, cross-appointed to the Indigenous Studies Program and Department of English. She teaches courses in comparative Indigenous literatures, comparative Indigenous studies, and Indigenous decolonization with a focus on gender issues and Indigenous women.

Her research specializes in Indigenous law and literature, particularly writing by Indigenous women. She explores how Indigenous women's writing addresses case law concerning tribal membership, residential school experiences, and land claims. Current projects examine Justice Thurgood Marshall's Indian law cases and documentary film's role in Indigenous women's justice practices.
Scientific awards include co-editing the award-winning collection Indigenous Women and Feminism: Politics, Activism, Culture (UBC Press, 2010). Her publications span law and literature, Indigenous feminisms, and transitional justice in settler-colonial contexts.
