Jess Clausen is an Adjunct and Lecturer at Lakehead University. They hold a PhD in Social Justice Education from the University of Toronto, complemented by a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Lakehead. Their academic background includes an MEd from Nipissing University, a BEd from York University, and a BA Honours from the University of Guelph.
Research Focus
Clausen's work critically examines land-based pedagogies within settler-colonial frameworks. Primary research domains include:
- Indigenous-settler relational dynamics in education
- Forest Schools and Nature Kindergartens as pedagogical models
- Decolonizing approaches to Social Justice Education
