Professor Cheryl Suzack (Batchewana First Nation) is a faculty member in the Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of Toronto. She holds the Chancellor’s Professor title and specializes in interdisciplinary research intersecting Indigenous law, literature, and feminist studies. Her work addresses gender and racialization frameworks in Indigenous self-determination, legal discourses, and land dispossession.

Her current projects include analyzing US Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall’s Indian law decisions and exploring Indigenous land defense practices through documentary film. Her research has been published in the Elgar Concise Encyclopedia of Law and Literature, Frontiers of Gender Equality, and NORA: Nordic Journal of Feminist and Gender Research.
