معرفی
Cheng-Ming Chiang is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He received his B.S. in Agricultural Chemistry from National Taiwan University (1984) and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Rochester (1991), followed by postdoctoral training at Rockefeller University. He previously held faculty positions at the University of Illinois and Case Western Reserve University before joining UT Southwestern in 2007.
His research focuses on:
- Mechanisms of transcriptional regulation and chromatin dynamics
- Molecular virology of human papillomavirus (HPV) and viral oncogenesis
- BRD4 bromodomain function in cancer progression and metastasis
- Development of targeted therapies for cancer and viral infections
Recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on BRD4's role in cancer epigenetics, HPV biology, and chromatin remodeling. His work spans mechanistic studies of transcriptional addiction in cancers to therapeutic targeting of epigenetic readers.
Awards & Honors:
- Pew Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences (1996)
- Editorial Board Member: Journal of Biological Chemistry (since 2003)
Dr. Chiang leads the Chiang Lab at UT Southwestern, investigating transcription mechanisms using integrated biochemical and genomic approaches. The lab collaborates extensively with cancer research initiatives, including the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.
