Chase McKinney serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Huntington University, joining the faculty in 2022. He teaches in the Master of Arts program with specialization in marriage and family therapy, emphasizing creativity in clinical and educational settings while viewing student mentorship as a sacred privilege.
His educational background includes:
- PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University
- Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary
- Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan
McKinney's clinical and research interests center on marriage and family therapy, clinical mental health counseling, and the integration of creativity in therapeutic contexts. He draws from his belief in Genesis 2:18's principle of relational necessity, applying this theology across diverse settings including homeless shelters, residential treatment facilities, and private practice.
Professional certifications include Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas), National Certified Counselor, MarriageStrong Facilitator, and Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator. Notably, he achieved Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
