Charly Hübner

Charly Hübner is a distinguished German actor, director, and visiting professor with over two decades of experience in theater, film, and television. Currently holding a Visiting Professorship in Media Art & Design for Summer Semester 2023, he bridges academic instruction with his active professional career.

Hübner's research interests span Acting, Theater Performance, Film Direction, and Documentary Filmmaking, reflecting his diverse professional background. His approach integrates practical industry experience with theoretical understanding, particularly focusing on the intersection of traditional performance techniques and contemporary media production.

Hübner has received numerous artistic accolades including the Golden Camera Award (2013), Bavarian Television Award, and Grimme Prize. His directorial work includes the award-winning documentary Wildes Herz and the feature film Sophia, der Tod und ich (2023).

As an educator, Hübner emphasizes practical application, bringing his extensive industry experience directly into the classroom.
