Charlotta Dabrosin is a Professor of Oncology at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) and the Division of Surgery, Orthopedics and Oncology (KOO). Her research focuses on understanding biological mechanisms underlying increased cancer risk in dense breast tissue, with emphasis on inflammation, estrogen signaling, and tumor microenvironment dynamics.
Her work explores how dense breast tissue creates pro-tumorigenic conditions, involving neutrophil activation, matrix stiffness effects, and cytokine-driven pathways. Key contributions include identifying CCL2/CCL5 as therapeutic targets and elucidating estradiol's role in cancer cell migration.
Dr. Dabrosin has secured significant research funding, including 24 million SEK from the Swedish Cancer Society. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges experimental oncology, immunology, and biomedical engineering, with applications in precision cancer therapy development.
She collaborates extensively, evidenced by co-authorships in high-impact journals like Oncoimmunology and Clinical Cancer Research. Her research aligns with initiatives at the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine, targeting translational oncology advancements.
