Charles Cooper is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Psychosis Studies, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London. He is affiliated with the Translational Neuroscience & Psychiatry Lab led by Professor Sagnik Bhattacharyya. Currently, he works at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust as a core psychiatry trainee.

Research Focus: Charles investigates translational approaches to improve clinical practice in psychosis. His work emphasizes neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychotic disorders and novel treatments, such as oral cannabidiol for individuals at clinical high risk for psychosis. He also explores risk factors for psychotic relapse.

Current Projects: Leading a trial on cannabidiol efficacy and studying relapse risk factors. Collaborates with the Translational Neuroscience & Psychiatry Lab and the Department of Psychosis Studies.
