Charles Bidgood

Dr. Charles Bidgood is a Research Fellow at the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre – Queensland (APCRC-Q) and holds the role of EMCR Delegate at the Translational Research Institute (TRI). His research focuses on cancer biology, cellular metabolism, and developing novel therapeutic strategies for advanced prostate cancer. He specializes in high-content single-cell microscopy, automated imaging pipelines, metabolomics, and computational techniques to study drug resistance mechanisms.

His research interests include metabolic reprogramming in cancer, mitochondrial energy remodelling, and the application of metabolomics to decode tumor microenvironment interactions. His work has led to presentations at global conferences such as the EACR Cancer Metabolism Meeting (Bilbao, Spain) and the Australian Cancer and Metabolism Meeting, where he received the Best Short Talk Award in 2021.

In addition to research, Dr. Bidgood serves as Sponsorship Manager for the Queensland branch of the Australian Society of Medical Research (ASMR), fostering collaborations between industry, academia, and pharmaceutical sectors to secure funding for medical research initiatives.
