Chara Kokkiou is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Tulane University, part of the School of Liberal Arts. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from Tulane University (2022) and a PhD in Classical Philology from the University of Crete (2015), alongside earlier degrees from the University of Athens and University College London. Her research focuses on ancient philosophy, moral philosophy, social/political philosophy, and aesthetics with an emphasis on emotions.

Her publications explore themes like compassion in Aristotle and Rousseau, eros and philosophy in Plato, and the aesthetics of space/place in classical texts. Upcoming projects include edited volumes on beauty and monstrosity in art and culture.
