Dr. Chaoyuan She is a Lecturer in Accounting at the Essex Business School, University of Essex, where he joined in January 2020. He currently serves as the Deputy Postgraduate Taught Programme Director (Accounting) since September 2023. Prior to his position at Essex, he completed his doctoral studies and held teaching and research assistant positions at the University of Exeter.

Dr. She's research examines the intersection of digital communication and corporate accountability, with particular focus on how social media platforms transform stakeholder engagement and corporate reporting practices. His work investigates organizational use of social media for sustainability reporting and stakeholder responses to corporate communications on digital platforms, with emphasis on environmental and social governance issues. He explores how counter-accounts disseminated through social media influence stakeholder support and how corporations manage perceptions through organized hypocrisy in CSR disclosures.
His publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on social media's role in corporate reporting and accountability, with recent work exploring stakeholder reactions to corporate social responsibility on digital platforms, environmental disclosures related to SDGs, and governance approaches to sustainable business practices. His research bridges accounting, sustainability, and digital communication fields, appearing in journals like Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting Forum, and Organization & Environment.
Dr. She serves as an editorial board member for Accounting Forum and provides ad-hoc reviewing services for prestigious journals including Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, and Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
He currently supervises PhD student Yufei Lin in Accounting and previously supervised Alaaeldin Mohamed Abbas Mohamed Ahmed, whose PhD on "Pension Accounting and Disclosure Reforms: Determinants and Consequences" was awarded in December 2023. In 2023, he secured funding from The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for research on "Love food hate waste - an analysis of food losses and waste reporting by food-waste-sensitive companies."
