Petros Vourvachis is a Senior Lecturer in Financial Accounting at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University. His career includes academic roles at the Universities of Exeter and Kingston, and prior professional experience as an accountant in both public and private sectors, alongside adjunct research at Eurostat. His research focuses on interdisciplinary areas of corporate accounting, accountability, and corporate social responsibility (CSR), with particular emphasis on sustainability reporting, environmental disclosure, and corporate governance. He teaches financial accounting and corporate governance modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Dr. Vourvachis' research explores intersections between corporate practices and socio-environmental accountability, including studies on UK Modern Slavery Act impacts, cross-border sustainability interdependencies, and historical CSR frameworks. His methodological contributions include content analysis and discourse analysis in corporate narrative reporting. He has published extensively in journals and books addressing CSR disclosure determinants, climate change disputes, and media influence on corporate reporting.
Teaching responsibilities include leading modules such as BSP423 Financial Reporting (postgraduate), BSP434 Corporate Governance (postgraduate), and BSB007 Financial Reporting (undergraduate). His work bridges academic research with practical accounting challenges while maintaining focus on ethical and sustainability dimensions of corporate operations.
