Chantal Thomas is Vice Dean and the Radice Family Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. She directs the Cornell Center for Global Economic Justice and serves as Faculty Director for the Clarke Initiative for Law and Development in the Middle East and North Africa. Her research focuses on international law, political economy, and global social justice.

Professor Thomas explores intersections of international economic law, development, and equity, particularly addressing systemic economic inequality. Her work spans human rights, trade law, and legal frameworks for global justice initiatives. She has co-authored research collaborations on gender and political economy.
Her leadership roles include advisory positions at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, World Bank, and U.S. House of Representatives' Trade Counsel. She serves on the U.S. Department of State’s Advisory Committee on International Law and the USMCA Dispute Settlement Expert Roster.
