Dr. Chandana Mathur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Maynooth University since 2003. She holds affiliations with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and serves as a permanent member of the World Council of Anthropological Associations' Advisory Board. Her research focuses on anthropological political economy and political ecology, particularly in the US, South Asia, and diaspora communities. She has held visiting roles at institutions like École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (France) and the University of Vienna (Austria).
Education includes degrees from the University of Delhi and the New School for Social Research, New York. She has contributed to transdisciplinary EU-funded projects such as WATERSPOUTT and PANI_Water, integrating anthropological perspectives with STEM research on water disinfection. Her editorial roles include membership on Dialectical Anthropology's editorial committee and advisory boards for Feminist Anthropology and sapiens.org.
