Dr. Celia Cruz is a Lecturer at Lehman College, City University of New York, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Middle and High School Education (MHSE). She teaches pure mathematics and mathematics pedagogy courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr. Cruz's research focuses on mathematics education, particularly on teachers' beliefs and practices in teaching and learning mathematics. She explores constructivist-based models for teaching mathematics and investigates the connections between literacy and mathematics learning. Her dissertation examined the effects of a Constructivist-Based Teaching Approach on students' conceptual understanding of introductory calculus.
