Catriona MacLeod

Dr. Catriona MacLeod is a Senior Lecturer in French Studies at the University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP). Her research focuses on gender representation in French-language graphic novels (bande dessinée), contemporary female artists' exploration of bodily taboos, and the social/cultural dynamics of French Guiana. She holds a PhD in French Studies from the University of Glasgow.

Her 2021 monograph Invisible Presence analyzes women's representation in French comics, while her 2018 co-edited volume Locating Guyane explores the understudied region's cultural plurality.
