Cathy Frey is a Full Professor of Mathematics at Norwich University's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, where she has taught since 1985. She previously served as Mathematics Department Chair (2002-2006), Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics (2006-2013), and held leadership roles in the Faculty Senate including Vice Chair (2003-2006, 2014-2017) and Chair (2017-2023). A third-generation Vermonter, she maintains active research in mathematics education and web-based instructional design.

Research Focus: Her work spans actuarial science, numerical analysis, and number theory, with specialized interest in developing digital mathematics education resources. She has completed all examinations for Associate status in the Society of Actuaries.
Honors:
- Jackie Gribbons Award for Leadership from Vermont Women in Higher Education (2008)
External Engagement: Served on the Vermont Commission on Women (2006-2015). Current courses include MA 240 (Introduction to Number Theory and Cryptology) and MA 318 (Cryptology).
