Cathy Crosby is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at St. Lawrence University. She joined the faculty in 1996 and has held roles including Associate Dean of the First-Year Program (2007–2011). Her interdisciplinary work bridges psychology and law, reflected in courses like Psychology and Law, and her research focuses on study abroad outcomes, judicial decision-making, and juror comprehension. She also leads the Community Psychology Seminar, which includes internships at sites such as Head Start and addiction treatment facilities.
Her research collaborations include work with Dr. Mark Oakes on improving juror understanding of legal instructions. Crosby contributed to the First-Year Program (FYP), teaching courses on families, law, and science. She holds a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law and a PhD in Community Psychology from the University of Virginia.
Crosby’s teaching extends to interdisciplinary FYP seminars and a research seminar in the spring. Her personal interests include gardening, cooking, and singing with ensembles like the University Chorus and The Any Music Singers alongside her daughter Aoife, a St. Lawrence student.
