Cathrine Hoyo

Cathrine Hoyo is a Professor and Goodnight Innovation Distinguished Chair at NC State University's Department of Biological Sciences. She holds the title of University Faculty Scholar and serves as Director of the Southern Liver Health Study (STRIVE). Her roles span academic leadership in environmental and health research.

Research focuses on environmental health impacts, particularly through her involvement with the NIEHS-funded PFAS Superfund Center and the Center for Human Health and the Environment (CHHE). She investigates liver health, toxicology, and environmental exposure effects.

Notable awards include the 2020 University Faculty Scholar recognition and 2018 Research Leadership Academy membership. Her work is supported by grants from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), evident through her leadership in funded centers.
