Dr. Catherine White is an Associate Professor - Educator at the University of Cincinnati's Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, College of Arts and Sciences. She coordinates the Basic French Program, overseeing curricula, exams, and Graduate Teaching Assistant training. Her educational background includes a PhD in Romance Languages & Literatures (2003), a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies (1999), an MA in French Literature (1998), and a BA in French/Comparative Literature from Indiana University (1978).
Her research bridges French/Francophone cinema as social artifacts and medieval literature, focusing on religious influences in Christine de Pizan's works. She teaches courses ranging from basic French to specialized seminars like 'La Chanson en français' and developed the freshman course 'France Goes To The Movies'.
