معرفی
Dr Catherine Rose is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Teaching at the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences, University of St Andrews. Her research focuses on integrating sedimentary stratigraphy with geochemical proxies to explore Earth history events such as global carbon cycle perturbations and climate changes. Her work emphasizes field-based observations across scales from rock outcrops to thin sections.
Key research areas include Ediacaran environmental transitions, Cryogenian glacial dynamics, and Mesoproterozoic seawater chemistry. She collaborates internationally on projects in Namibia, South Australia, Sweden, and the North American Midcontinent Rift. Her teaching role involves curriculum development and student mentorship.
Award-winning studies have advanced understanding of carbon isotope excursions, cap dolostone formation, and early diagenetic processes. Ongoing work examines the Snowball Earth hypothesis’s climatic and biological implications.
