Catherine Bowden is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Social Ethics and Policy (CSEP) and Division of Cancer Sciences at the University of Manchester. Her work bridges legal and ethical issues in healthcare, particularly focusing on pregnancy, reproduction, and health data governance. She holds a PhD (2022) and MA (2013) from the University of Manchester, and a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Previously a solicitor specializing in commercial law and clinical negligence, she now teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in tort law, medical ethics, and medico-legal problems. She serves as Deputy Chief Examiner for Advanced Tort Law at the University of London.
