Cate Davies is a Lecturer in Nursing and Healthcare Education at the University of Chester since November 2023, based at the Shrewsbury campus. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. Her academic background includes a BSc Hons in Specialist Practice (District Nursing) from Staffordshire University (2012–2013) and a Postgraduate Award in Applied Pharmacology and Therapeutics in Diabetes Care from the University of Warwick (2023).
Research interests span diabetes and cardiology clinical trials, with prior involvement in the COVID-19 Vaccine Trials during the pandemic. She aims to expand her focus into nurse education. Teaching responsibilities include leading modules on Applied Sciences, Medicines Management, and Practice Learning across the Trainee Nurse Associate and Pre-Registration Nurse Programs. She also contributes to simulation practice days.
Cate completed the TALENT professional development program and plans to pursue a PG Certificate in Education in 2024. Her clinical experience includes 10 years as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse and 2 years as a Clinical Research Nurse Specialist, alongside roles in community care, research facilities, and general practice cardiovascular/diabetes care.
