Catarina Proença

Catarina Proença is a university professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and the Institute of Accounting and Administration of Coimbra (ISCAC). She holds two BSc degrees in Economics and Accounting & Auditing, an MSc in Financial Analysis, and a PhD in Business Management from the University of Coimbra, with her doctoral thesis focusing on Eurozone banking performance. Her academic roles include teaching and research in financial analysis, corporate governance, and banking systems.

Her research interests span banking performance evaluation, gender diversity in corporate settings, political connections in financial institutions, and the impact of regulatory frameworks like IFRS 9.
