Caryn Grabowski serves as Department Chair and Program Director of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology within the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University. Appointed to the faculty in 2018 after over a decade of clinical practice, she instructs graduate courses in Dysphagia and Neuromotor Disorders of Communication, leveraging specialized expertise in adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
Her research centers on concussion-related speech and language alterations, investigating acoustic patterns, speech error rates, and sensorimotor integration disruptions through longitudinal studies of athletes. She pioneered clinical simulation programs and community partnerships to enhance student competencies in medical speech-language pathology, with recent work focusing on early biomarkers for concussion recovery within 72-hour windows.
Dr. Grabowski's scientific contributions are recognized through multiple awards including ASHA's Continuing Education Award (2024), Bouve College's Emerging Leader Award (2024), and dual Seton Hall Outstanding Educator Awards (2019, 2022).

She has secured significant research funding including a Parkinson Voice Project Clinical Education Grant (2024-2025) and a $457,497 NJCBIR grant for monitoring cognitive, sleep, emotional, and speech disruptions in concussion recovery. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of physiatrists and therapists, she develops nationally implemented treatment protocols for speech rehabilitation in traumatic brain injury and Parkinson's disease.
