معرفی
Carsten Saeger is a faculty member in Fine Art at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar's Faculty of Art and Design, specializing in situational installations, performances, and video art. Previously, he served as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (2019-2021) in the Class for Installation and Spatial Art under Prof. Joachim Blank.
His research critically engages with body, identity, and memory through interdisciplinary artistic practices. This work intersects contemporary art, installation art, performance art, video art, body art, identity studies, and memory studies, often creating immersive experiences that challenge perceptions of physical and social spaces.
Notable recognitions include:
- 24th Federal Prize for Art Students (2019)
- Rome Prize of the German Academy Villa Massimo (2021)
His educational foundation combines a B.A. in Communication Design (Burg Giebichenstein University, 2009-2015) with a Diploma in Visual Arts (Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, 2015-2019). Current creative activity includes co-producing the 2023 Werkleitz documentary short film and maintaining an active exhibition schedule with works in public collections. While specific grant details aren't documented, his Rome Prize residency and ongoing projects indicate sustained institutional support for his artistic research.
