Anna De Manincor

Anna De Manincor is a Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Bologna (Ababo), teaching Multimedia Installations (ABPR36), Video Sculpture (ABAV7), and Processes and Techniques for Multimedia Entertainment (ABTEC40) within the Sculpture department. She previously taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari (2022/23), Academy of Fine Arts in Bari (2021/22), and NABA-Milan (2007-2019).

She earned a Degree in History of Cinema from the University of Bologna – DAMS, with an Erasmus scholarship at Département de Cinéma Paris VIII – Saint Denis.

Her artistic practice spans multimedia installations, documentary films, video sculpture, and urban interventions. She co-founded the ZIMMERFREI collective in 2000 with Massimo Carozzi and Anna Rispoli, merging theatre, cinema, and sound experimentation. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at MAMbo (Bologna), MACRO and GNAM (Rome), and group exhibitions including the 50th Venice Art Biennale (2003) and Manifesta7 (2008). She has created permanent installations in Bologna and Brussels.

Her documentary films with ZimmerFrei have been presented at major international festivals including CPH DOCS Copenhagen, Visions du Réel, and Torino Film Festival.

Professor De Manincor's teaching methodology combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises, requiring students to develop individual video projects that demonstrate understanding of audiovisual language. She maintains office hours on Thursdays from 00:30 to 5:00 PM, available both in person and online by appointment.
