Nasan Tur is a Professor in the Department of Free Art at Braunschweig University of Art, where he investigates political and social conditions through experimental artistic arrangements. His practice visualizes ideologies, social norms, and behavioral patterns while expanding possibilities for individual action by distilling media and public space elements into critical artistic miniatures.
His research spans Contemporary Art, Political Art, and Social Practice, focusing on how gestures, statements, and images reflect and shape societal crises. Tur's methodology involves condensing complex discourses into tangible installations that challenge viewers' relationships with dominant structures.
He has received the Will Grohmann Prize from the Berlin Academy of Arts (2012) and a Villa Massimo Fellowship in Rome (2014).
