Carrie Wood, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies and Director of the Master of Divinity Programs at Regent University School of Divinity. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s in Renewal Theology (Biblical Studies concentration) from Regent University, alongside a Bachelor of Theology in Messianic Jewish Studies from The King’s University. Her professional background includes hospice chaplaincy, Continuing Professional Education (CPE), and teaching in civilian, military, and expeditionary contexts across multiple continents.
Her research focuses on the Geography of Scripture, Second Temple Period economic patterns, archaeology of Israel/Diaspora (notably the El Araj excavation), and intersections of Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity. Dr. Wood has instructed Biblical Expeditions in biblical lands and served with her husband, U.S. Navy Chaplain Captain Glen Wood, in global postings over 34 years. She currently resides in Chesapeake, VA, near her adult children and grandson.
