Carrie Arroyo is a Clinical Professor at the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, Baylor University. She holds an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania (2003) and a BSW from the University of Texas at Austin. Her professional credentials include LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Carrie focuses on diversity-sensitive practice, cultural responsiveness, and issues impacting multicultural families, inter-racial marriage, and at-promise youth. She explores school-based social work interventions, attachment theory’s long-term mental health effects, and community strengthening strategies. She practiced school social work for seven years with Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas, managing grant-funded programs and providing direct services to families. Later, she transitioned to therapeutic counseling for older adults. She is a full-time faculty member and resides in North Waco with her family.
