Carrie A. Knott serves as Extension Associate Professor and Director of the Research and Education Center at Princeton within the University of Kentucky's College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. Her extension and research program focuses on grain crop production systems including corn, soybeans, small grains, grain sorghum and canola.
Professional activities span three key areas: 1) Development of research-based grain production recommendations, 2) Field-based applied research supporting extension programming, and 3) Collaboration with commodity groups and agribusiness stakeholders. Work emphasizes practical solutions for Kentucky farmers.
Current extension programming addresses yield optimization, pest management, nutrient management, and climate adaptation strategies. Research trials investigate variety performance, planting systems, and sustainable intensification of grain production systems.
