Carolyn M. Porta

Carolyn M. Porta serves as Professor in the Population Health and Systems Cooperative at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and Adjunct Professor in Epidemiology and Community Health at the School of Public Health. She concurrently holds the administrative position of Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs within the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs.

Her educational foundation includes a PhD in Nursing (2004), MS in Environmental/Occupational Health (2000), MPH in Maternal/Child Health (1997), MS in Public Health Nursing (1997), and BS in Nursing (1994)—all from the University of Minnesota. Her research spans Population Health, Public Health Nursing, and Maternal/Child Health with specialized focus on Environmental Health impacts and Sexual Assault Forensic Examination systems.

As a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) and Fellow of the National Academy of Practice (FNAP), she demonstrates significant professional recognition. Her clinical leadership as Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs drives strategic partnerships between academic programs and healthcare systems to advance clinical education and practice innovation.
