Carolyn Davis Fryer

Carolyn Davis Fryer is an Applied Instructor of Bass at the Adams School of Music and the Arts, with faculty appointments at Boston University's College of Fine Arts, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Gordon College. She is an accomplished double bass performer with an international career spanning Europe, South America, the United States, and Mexico.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor and Master of Music in Music Performance from The Juilliard School, where she was awarded the Zimmerman Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement.

Ms. Fryer specializes in double bass performance, chamber music, and orchestral studies. Her artistic career includes performances with the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta, multiple U.S. tours with the Brandenburg Ensemble, and appearances with 'Music from Marlboro'. She has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Colorado, DaPonte, and Mendelssohn Quartets, and performed at prestigious festivals including Marlboro, Grand Teton, and the Conductors Retreat at Medomak.
