Caroline Vander Stichele is a Full Professor at Tilburg University, holding a chair in the Impact of the Bible in Western Culture within the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology. She has held academic positions at the University of Leuven, Utrecht, Tilburg, and Amsterdam. Her research focuses on Early Christianity, gender in religious texts, visual culture, and Yoga Studies. She earned a PhD and STD in Biblical Studies from KU Leuven and a Master's in Contemporary Asian Studies from the University of Amsterdam.
Her recent projects explore climate change discourse through religious vocabularies (2023-2026) and co-edited volumes on John the Baptist narratives and Paul Verhoeven’s cinematic portrayal of Jesus. She actively participates in media discussions on religion and climate change, emphasizing symbolic frameworks in societal crises.
