Caroline Mysiorek is a Lecturer in the Department of Physiology at the University of Artois since September 2010. Her research focuses on blood-brain barrier (BBB) physiology and its role in brain cancers, particularly brain metastases and pediatric glial tumors. She teaches modules in methodology in biology, animal physiology, human physiology, and biochemistry.
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (2004), Faculty of Sciences J.Perrin, Lens
- Master 1 in Structural and Functional Biochemistry (Claude Bernard University, Lyon I)
- Master 2 in Research-Health Biology (University of Lille)
- PhD in Life Sciences (2009, University of Artois), focusing on BBB pathophysiology during cerebral ischemia
Her research explores mechanisms enabling breast cancer cells to cross the BBB during metastasis formation (since 2013) and the impact of pediatric gliomas on BBB permeability and chemotherapy accessibility (since 2015). She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Münster, studying extracellular matrix roles in post-ischemic inflammation.
She is affiliated with the Blood-Brain Barrier Laboratory, part of the university's research center.
