Caroline Hurtig is a Lecturer at Linköping University's Department of Nursing and Reproductive Health (ORH) within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She serves as the program director for the Midwifery Program and contributes to education at the Nursing Program and Master's level.

Her research focuses on improving healthcare through patient participation, particularly in kidney care and maternal health. She has led studies on person-centered care in kidney disease and tools to support healthcare staff in identifying intimate partner violence victims. Her work emphasizes reproductive, perinatal, and sexual health (RPSH), with a goal of amplifying patient voices in clinical settings.
Recent articles highlight her expertise in mixed-methods approaches to chronic kidney disease management and qualitative analyses of midwifery challenges in addressing violence. She supervises master's theses and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams at Region Stockholm.
