Caroline Hillairet serves as an Associate Professor in the Finance department at ENSAE Paris and is a permanent member of CREST (Center for Research in Economics and Statistics). She has held this position since September 2015 and leads the actuarial program. Additionally, she has been an associate actuary of Institut des Actuaires since 2018.
Her research spans Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics, with specialized expertise in Risk Management. Key focus areas include Longevity Risk (including financial aspects of human longevity modeling), Cyber Risk (as co-leader of the AXA Joint Research Initiative), Credit Risk, Interest Rate Modeling, Intergenerational Risk sharing mechanisms, and Asymmetric Information in filtration enlargement frameworks. Her work integrates theoretical financial mathematics with practical actuarial applications.
Prior to joining ENSAE Paris, she was an Associate Professor at École Polytechnique within the Mathematical Finance team at CMAP (Applied Mathematics Center). She actively contributes to major research initiatives including the ANR Lolita project on dynamic longevity models and the AXA cyber risk research program.
