Carolin Ulbrich

Dr. Carolin Ulbrich is a physicist and group leader at the Institute Competence Centre Photovoltaics Berlin (PVcomB). Her work focuses on acquisition and analysis of photovoltaic field data, data science applications in PV research, and energy system integration.

• Career highlights include leading the Outdoor Performance group at PVcomB since 2017, serving as Test Manager at Carmeq GmbH (Volkswagen subsidiary) for automotive diagnostics (2014-2017), and scientific roles at Forschungszentrum Jülich (2009-2017), NREL (2012-2013), University of Stuttgart (2007-2009), and University of Heidelberg (2005-2007).
• Educational background features a 2011 PhD from RWTH Aachen (thesis: Spectral and Directional Dependence of Light-Trapping in Solar Cells) and a 2005 Diploma in Physics from University of Heidelberg (thesis: Monitoring Field Tracer Experiment with Ground Penetrating Radar and Time Domain Reflectometry).
