Carolee Estelle

Carolee Estelle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she serves as Chief of Infection Prevention for Parkland Health & Hospital System. She specializes in infectious diseases with research interests in multidrug-resistant Gram-negative infections (particularly in burn patients), infectious disease emergency response, and COVID-19. She earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed training at UT Southwestern.

Her research examines healthcare epidemiology with emphasis on outbreak prevention and antimicrobial resistance patterns. Professional affiliations include the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
