Dana Blyth

Dana Blyth is a Medical Educator at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. She holds key roles as Program Director for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Infectious Disease (ID) Fellowship and Co-Director of the WRNMMC Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. She is also a representative for the Faculty Development Outreach and Certification (FOCUS) program at USUHS and serves on committees for the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). Her research focuses on medical education, antimicrobial resistance, and military medicine-related infections, particularly trauma and burn injuries.

Her work spans clinical and educational initiatives, including addressing multidrug-resistant organisms and infections in combat scenarios. She has contributed to studies on burn wound infections, seasonal microbiology of combat wounds, and antimicrobial resistance patterns in combat casualties. Notably, she has been honored with the Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA) designation.

Dr. Blyth’s collaborations include military and academic institutions, reflecting her commitment to advancing infection prevention, medical education equity, and trauma care in high-risk environments. Her publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to combat-related infections and systemic improvements in healthcare training and policy.
