Carole Maigné is a full professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Lausanne (Faculty of Arts). She assumed her role on February 1, 2015. Previously, she served as a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Caen (2000–2004) and the University of Paris-Sorbonne (2004–2015). Her academic achievements include a thesis (2000) on Johann Friedrich Herbart and a habilitation (2013) titled Herbartian Filiations: A Journey Around Form from J.F. Herbart to R. Zimmermann, both focused on German philosophical traditions.
Research Focus: Her work emphasizes 19th- and 20th-century German and Austrian philosophy, particularly the philosophy of culture (e.g., Cassirer), aesthetics, and art philosophy.
