Carol Teitelbaum

Carol Teitelbaum is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Dance at Barnard College. With over 30 years of experience as a dancer and movement educator, she is a Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® and former member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. She served as faculty chair of the Merce Cunningham School from 1998 to 2012 and currently teaches for the Cunningham Trust. Her work focuses on technique classes, repertory workshops, and staging Cunningham dances globally for companies like the Lyon Opera Ballet and institutions such as Stanford University and the Conservatoire de Paris.

Ms. Teitelbaum integrates the Feldenkrais Method® into her teaching to enhance movement efficiency and artistic expression. She holds an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan and maintains a private practice alongside her role at the Field Center for Children's Integrated Development, supporting children with diverse challenges. Her approach emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and somatic awareness in dance education.
